Our mission..

Is to have on-going functional relationships between artists, environment and community.  Nurturing sustainability through our on-site permaculture garden, organic olive grove and animal sanctuary, we seek artists who find pleasure engaging in a holistic approach to their work with respect for the natural world.

The residency at Dar Slimane encourages artists to develop and experiment in their medium while creating works that contribute to the functionality and aesthetic various aspects of the property. Opportunities to visit the old city medina, meet local artisans and learn about craft and techniques unique to the Moroccan culture can be arranged on an ongoing basis specific to artists´ program.

Selected artists are offered residencies with a duration between 1 and 3 months and are provided with free accommodation, studio workspace, and access to tools and facilities relevant to their specific medium. In-turn artists are obliged to donate a piece of work created during their time at the residency and conducive to Dar Slimane’s mission.

Artists are responsible for their own transportation, insurance, food and other miscellaneous expenses.

Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.
